Wall Street Kid is a unique and quirky NES title that most of you
probably haven't played. I didn't really expect much from a stock market
simulator, but I was surprised, as WSK is a fun game.

Graphics: The graphics are half decent. You spend most of your time
sitting in your desk, in your small office, which consists of:

A computer
A newspaper
A phone
a clock
and a flower pot

All of these are well drawn, but the coloring sucks. There are only four
differebnt colors used in your office, so it is very plain, and not much
eye-candy.

The only other time you see a different background is when someone calls
you on the phone to contact you about buying something, but i'll talk
about this in the gameplay section.

Sound: The music in this game is horribly annoying. Its literally the
same high pitched 15 second track looping OVER AND OVER again. I'd be
surprised if you survived an hour of this musical torture without
tearing your hair out.
Serously, its that bad.

The only other sounds are when the teleplone rings, and when someone is
talking. Probably some of the worst sounds ever heard in a game. The
sound sounds for a short while but after five minutes you will want to
punt your NES across the room or hit it with a bat.

Control: You use the directional pad to move the cursor to the item you
want to interact with.
Thats right, you heard me, you control a cursor.
The cursor moves slower than molasses in January, so you may want to go
take a nap while it moves. Couldn't they have made an option to change
the cursor speed? You use the A button to press on one of the items on
tyour desk, and the B button is used to exit after you've clicked on an
item.

Gameplay: The object of the game is to make money by buying and selling
shares in the stock market. Sounds like a blast, huh?
Its better than it sounds. Your long lost uncle has recently bit the
dust, and since you are his only surviving relative, you are eligible to
inherit over $600 billion in assets. But heres the catch: You most prove
your worth by making $500,000 in a time limit in the stock market.
You start out with $500,000, hoping to double that in one month, so you
can buy a $1 million house and hopefully inherit the $600 billion. But
after buying the house, its not over. Next, you must buy a boat, then a
castle, then finally you can get the dough. But along the way, your
snobby girlfriend, Prisilla, will demand to be pampered with pets, cars,
and other assorted items. You can also take her to the carnival,
shopping, or on a picnic. You must do these things with her or she will
break up with you and the game will be over. You can also do things by
yourself, such as working out, swimming, and hiking. You don't actually
see your character doing these things, you just see
a black screen that tells you how long it took.

Fun Factor: It is a fun game, but it isn't great for long periods of
time, as it can get boring quickly. 6/10

Replay Value: There isn't jack to do after you finish, and you probably
are not going to want to go through it again. 4/10

Rent or Buy: You either love or hate this title, but since you can buy
it for under $3, you should buy it if you see it anywhere. After all, if
you don't like it, $3 isn't a huge loss.
